- Peel and devein the shrimp, and season them with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter and sauté the onions until they become translucent, stirring occasionally for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and diced red pepper and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they are pink and cooked through.
- Add the cooking cream to the skillet and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
- Preheat your broiler on high.
- Transfer the pasta to an oven-safe baking dish and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Place the baking dish under the broiler and broil for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once the cheese is melted, remove the dish from the broiler and serve immediately.
